Profile
Jesse was born in Clearwater, B.C. but moved with his family to Victoria before his first birthday. Growing up in Victoria, Jesse was involved in many sports but his main focus was his involvement with numerous successful minor hockey teams. He was also a member of a provincial championship tennis team while attending Lambrick Park High School. After completing high school, Jesse played one season for the BCJHL’s Victoria Salsa before accepting a full athletic hockey scholarship to the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Upon graduating with a degree in business marketing, Jesse signed his first NHL contract with the San Jose Sharks and spent the next 7 years playing professional hockey in the AHL, NHL, and most recently in the German Elite League.
After returning home every summer for the past 11 years, Jesse finally moved back to Victoria permanently to pursue a career as a licensed mortgage professional with Dominion Lending Centres. He currently resides in Victoria with his wife Lisa and their English Bulldog Newman. His families’ strong roots in the community date back to 1948 when his grandparents immigrated to Victoria from Denmark.
Jesse has always aspired to be the very best at what he does as evidenced by his being one of the very few who realize their dream of playing in the National Hockey League. Jesse’s experience playing professional hockey has taught him to excel under pressure in a competitive environment as well as to work diligently with others to create success. He applies all these skills to his career as a mortgage broker.
